TERMS OF AGREEMENT FOR FLY AND DRIVE
PLEASE READ THIS USER AGREEMENT AND THE FOLLOWING TERMS AND CONDITIONS CAREFULLY BEFORE BOOKING. BY BOOKING,YOU SIGNIFY YOUR ASSENT TO THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS DESCRIBED BELOW. IF YOU DO NOT AGREE WITH ANY PART OF THE FOLLOWING TERMS AND CONDITIONS YOU MUST NOT BOOK.
Terms of Payment
Full payment shall reach Icevisit upon confirmation of booking. In case of further delay on payments, Icevisit will reserve the right to treat the booking as a cancellation and withdraw its confirmation of services.
Validity of prices
All rates quoted or shown in our tariffs are based on current purchasing prices in Iceland. IceVisit reserves the right to increase prices already quoted or published in our price lists without notice in the event of currency fluctuation, government taxes, or due to any other cost increases that are outside Icevisit control.
Any eventual changes in rates will not be made with less then 4 weeks’ notice prior to arrival.
After the invoice has been issued the price is guaranteed against any surcharge, unless an increase is due to government laws
Liability
Icevisit disclaims responsibility for any loss, damage, accidents, sickness or changes in schedules caused by weather, strikes or any other irregularity outside Icevisit’s control.
Icevisit cannot be held responsible for the acts, default or delay of any agents, hotel,operators, airline, guide, restaurant or other persons or companies, however caused .
Icevisit reserves the right to alter routes, itineraries or departure times, without prior notice, should the necessity arise. In case of any changes in flights, the passenger has to pay any additional cost caused by this, at the time the service is provided (extra hotel nights, meals, transfers etc). We advise all clients to have insurance, as clients are on their own responsibility on optional tours, such as riding tours and snow scooter tours.
All complaints must reach Icevisit within 5 days from departure from Iceland. Otherwise possible compensation is not valid.
All information on the website is subject to change. Icevisit reserves the right to alter/change/correct mistakes that may possibly appear on the website.
Cancellation
All cancellations must be made by letter, fax or e-mail. In conformity with business practices within the Icelandic travel industry, the Travel Agent is obliged to charge cancellation fees to passenger(s) as follows:

If a service which has unconditionally been confirmed is cancelled by Icevisit, for example due to insufficient participation, cancellations must be made with at least 4 weeks´ notice on Icevisit behalf. Icevisit shall make every effort to provide similar alternative arrangements without additional cost to the buyer. Should those alternatives not be to the buyer’s satisfaction, a full refund shall be made to the amount paid.
Renting a Car in Iceland
Cars may only be driven by drivers 20 years of age or older, who have a valid driver’s license and who present a current major credit card in their name as a rental guarantee.
Motor caravans may only be driven by drivers of 23 years of age or older
If you choose to rely on your credit card for cover, we strongly recommend that you fully understand the terms and conditions of any cover provided by your credit card company before you decline any of our optional services.
Collision Damage Waiver ( CDW )
This option limits your financial liability for damage to the vehicle, its parts and accessories, except theft, attempted theft or vandalism, provided the vehicle is used in accordance with the terms and conditions of the rental agreement.
If CDW is declined, you will be responsible for damage up to the full value of the vehicle.
Collision Damage Waiver ( CDW ) does NOT Cover:
a. Intentional damage or damage due to gross negligence on the part of the driver.
b. Damage resulting from the driver being under the influence of alcohol, stimulants or sedatives, or in any other way incapable of driving the vehicle in a safe manner.
c. Damage due to race or test driving.
d. Damage due to war, revolution, civil unrest and riots.
e. Damage done by animals.
f. Holes burned into seats, carpets, or mats.
g. Damage affecting only wheels, tires, suspension, batteries, glass (other than windows), radios, or loss by theft of parts of the vehicle and damage resulting from this.
h. Damage caused by driving on rough roads to the vehicle’s transmission, drive and other parts that are in or attached to the chassis; damage to the chassis resulting from the vehicle scraping bottom on rough roads, e.g., ridges being left by road graders; stones lodged in the road surface or on the shoulder of the road. The same applies to damage occurring when stones are thrown up, striking the underside of the vehicle during driving.
i. Damage resulting from driving in places where vehicle traffic is banned, such as on paths, tracks,
banks of snow, ice, unbridged rivers or streams, beaches, places only accessible at low tide, or other trackless areas. However, payment of an own risk fee will cover damage due to the driver being forced to leave the road, e.g., due to road repairs.
j. Damage to 2wd vehicles that occur when driving on roads marked F on official maps and KJÖLUR road nr. 35 and KALDIDALUR road nr. 550.
k. Damage caused by sand, gravel, ash, pumice, or other kinds of earth material being blown onto the vehicle.
l. If the vehicle is transported by sea, a payment of an own risk fee does not cover damage caused by sea spray/seawater.
m. Damage and loss that the Lessor suffers if the vehicle is stolen.
n. Water damage to the vehicle.
