Icebergs and Landmannalaugar in 4×4.
Icebergs, Landmannalaugar and Glaciers. 2 Days Tour
South coast, Icebergs and Landmannalaugar.
Our guides will pick you up and we‘ll head southeast to discover all the fascinating landscapes. We’ll visit Seljalandsfoss a special waterfall because it can be accessed from behind, Skógar and Skógarfoss. Then there is the small village of Vik, with approximately 280 habitants, and black sand beaches. The town’s church, located high on a hill, is quite unique. Notable for its remarkable features is Reynisdrangar – black basalt columns sculpted by the sea. Dyrholaey is a cliff with a door-hole made by nature, and there are rock pillars that are unique in their natural formation.
Our next stop is Kirkjubaejarklaustur, the site of the first monastery in Iceland, and from there to Skaftafell the National Park. Jokulsarlon is the largest glacier lagoon in Iceland, with seals and floating icebergs. We will spend the night in a hotel in the surroundings of Vatnajokull the largest glacier in Europe.
After breakfast we drive in the direction of Landmannalaugar and visit the small church at Núpastaðir. Landmannalaugar is a pearl in nature, where hot and cold water springs create a warm stream. After spending some time in these beautiful, magical surroundings – especially the special multicoloured mountains in Landmannalaugar, we head back to Reykjavik stopping on the way to look at the volcanic crater Ljótipollur and passing the volcano Hekla.
Arriving in Reykjavík in the evening.
